Here's to fingers crossed that the decision remains upheld. The voters of California recently decided that they supported a ban on the State recognizing same-sex marriages.
Whereas I respect the 'voters' wishes in many cases...voters have been wrong before.
Case in point...We would never have had desegregation if it weren't for those 'activist judges' meddling in the issue and going against what the majority of voters in many states opposed.
Now, most people look back and wonder how so many people could have been so racist, and realize that those policies of exclusion were just plain wrong.
I'm an ex-pamphleteer turned blogger who provides tightly-focused niche coverage of movies, TV, politics and kittens. I don't discrimate against people based on race, religion, sexual preference or your level of stupidity. Occassionally, I also blog on sports, history, Britney Spears and Abe Lincoln. My lover's name is Wally, and although he seems a little embarassed by this blog, he never really says so when he's sober.
