Name That Tune

U.S. Sen. Orrin Hatch said on Face the Nation yesterday morning that Scooter Libby received no special treatment whatsoever when his sentence was commuted last week by President George Bush.

The good Sen. Hatch either really believes this (doubtful), is delusional (possible) ... or he's lying.

Please don't play this again, Orrin.

I think the tune is "I Confess" by The English Beat. As in, Scooter may or may not have known about Valerie Plame, but he probably knows way too much about Dick, Karl and George for them to let him go to prison. Anyone taking bets on a full pardon coming on January 20, 2009?

But I also say let him go. He's not the one we want, and not for perjury. And we shouldn't be satisfied with their scapegoat. There are still real atrocities galore.

Trivial compared to what we should be working on as a nation:
- Bringing our soldiers home from Iraq
- National security
- Health care
- Immigration reform
- Racism / bigotry
