In watching American Idol a couple nights ago, Wally and I were both taken aback by some cruel comments the judges made about a young man who appeared to suffer, perhaps, from a mental disability. It's why I wrote this post.
Since then, I've read other media accounts that have picked up on this trend as judges opt for cruelty over civility. Last night, Keith Olbermann did a spot about it for his show on MSNBC.
And today, in the New York Times, we have this short article, which points out that one of the young men that the judges were cackling over is a past participant in the Special Olympics.
Remember, these judges are getting filthy rich on this show. What is this young man getting, other than getting laughed at?

Since when has Hollywood ever been kind to anyone? They eat their own.
It is sad, to make fun of someone who has physical or mental challanges. They will answer for it someday.
